Arcade Stick

Picked one up for £7.99 and am now giving MAME some serious hammer playing these games as the good lord allah buddah intended...with a small joystick and big buttons....

Bombjack, galaxians, track & field and scramble have all been played and all been enjoyed.

Michael Jackson - The death of a former very good music artiste

OK so everyone has heard....

MJ has passed away and it is on every news programme and every tv station and every radio show and people who just2 weeks ago were slagging him off are now saying they were his best mate.

This is my 2 pence worth...his early music work was fantastic and he was a brilliant entertainer and also a father to his kids.

He was also (and lets be honest) a little bit freaky and did himself no favours in the latter half of his life.

Once again the media can be partly blamed for keeping the bandwagon going and reporting on every crazy story that was made up, but lets not forget the old saying `there is no smoke without fire`

In this world of z list celebrity being treated as saints (Jade Goody), lets remember him when he was at the peak of his career and put everything else in the part of the brain that is labelled `better forgotten`

RESPECT.

thats all...

Friday 26th June 2009

Another dull day at work today and that has been my constant niggle this week - work.

It isnt very good at the moment and my mind is drawn more and more to redundancy or early retirement....at my age that is quite unusual (I am less than 40) but work does not interest me any more....I am not lazy and I have just had my yearly appraisal in which I was told I was `pretty bloody brilliant` but i think to myself what is the point of working my arse off - i dont get any extra money, people dont think any greater of me - in fact they just think `scorpio48k will sort that out`

I might get an allotment...that could the catalyst in eventually buying a smallholding and becoming more self sufficient...paying no one for anything....

no work - no money - no hassle.....

Thursday 18th June 2009

MMM well it all seems a bit dull after the Oasis gig.

Work sucks and I think my mood level is at an all time low.

Only payday can help me now.

It isnt that bad though as I had a very nice walk along the beach today before I went to work.

I wish I had a job that involved walking along a deserted beach.

Saw a man metal detecting ... he was about 200 metres away from me and he turned and waved at me...

That cheered me up - then the cynic in my head said `he must be either gay or a total idiot`

why do I hate people so much ??

I scare myself sometimes.......

Monday 15th June 2009

OK I have had the weekend to recover from last weeks vodka frenzy at the oasis gig.

All I have listened to since is Kasabian.

Every album they have done has been amazing and the new album is stunning.

They did a live version of Candi Staton - You got the Love.....

WOW

Nothing else needs saying.

This is one band I could watch live again now. Next time they play anywhere in the North I will be there.

Bless them all.

Wednesday 10th June 2009 - OASIS

It is now Thursday and I feel quite...fragile.

It all began at approximately 2pm yesterday with the opening of a bottle of Smirnoff and a can of Relentless......half a bottle of vodka, 3 cans of Relentless, 4 pints of cider and another mystery drink and I can safely say that yesterdays mini festival at the Stadium of Light was one of the best days out ever.

Packed out with very drunk people listening to Reverend and the makers, The Enemy, kasabian and then Oasis.

A steady stream of thrown lager glasses, drizzly rain and the heady waft of some evil smelling skunk ensured that this was going to be a day to remember.

The Music was amazing, the prices of beer were disgraceful and the chips were horrible, but what a day.

Thank you to the bands involved....they were really good and should consider doing it for a living

Tuesday 9th June 2009

Reading a really good book at the moment.....Korea - A Walk through the land of Miracles by Simon Winchester.....A walking tour through South Korea and jolly good it is too. I am a huge fan of Travel books, any book that teaches me and takes me on a mind holiday to that country is worth reading...it would be nice to read a book about every country in the world....that would be a challenge....

Listening to Oasis, Kasabian and The Enemy and at lunchtim today was feeling a little wiped out so listened to The Orb which really got my head back to normal ready for my afternoon shift.

Came home and played Dead Rising and just finished a nice game of Bejeweled 2....

Might go to bed now as all that is on the tv is roulette channels, Big brother and crappy dave repeats and horrible BBC3.

Picture of the day .......

Thank you to The Orb for Little Fluffy Clouds

Racing Games

This generation of video gaming has seen a truly astounding leap forward in the world of racing games.

I have been a big fan of racing games (although I am no good at them) since the early days of chequered flag on the speccy and those type in magazine listing for the zx81 where you steered the letter x in between some brackets ( x )

Every machine since has had to have a decent racer and to be honest I cannot remember a machine that didnt have a really good racing game....One of my personal favourites is Power Drive on the Jaguar....crap machine but a stunning game.

At the moment I am a little spoiled for choice as on my PC I have the Big Daddy - Grid and on the PS3 I have the Giant haystacks that is GT5 Prologue.

The 360 has too many good racing games and I still play PGR3, Forza2, Stuntman Ignition, Flatout and a very under rated game Fatal Inertia

My son bough Fuel for the 360 at the weekend and I must say this could be my next purchase (as he will not lend me anything :( )

Great times for the racing fans......but they always have been !!!!

Yay for games - they make me smile :)

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue for the PS3

Yip thats what I bought today and if I hadnt had half a bottle of vodka and stoopid Eastenders wasnt on, I would be playing it.

£12 second hand for what is apparently the best racer for the ps3.....

It will do me until the full whack game is released....

Watched Mr Beans Holiday on HD DVD yesterday as daughter was poorly....good film and some laugh out loud moments and a couple of laugh out quiet moments too.

Listening to Oasis, kasabian new album and the Enemy as I am going to see them next wednesday....

Cant wait and I think the vodka will be downed on that day too.....

rock on with the vodka frenzy

Big Brother 10 - UK

I watched the 1st series of BB and was genuinely interested in the mix of characters and dynamics within the house.

Then the producers of the show decided that characters = viewing figures and this is where my viewing ended....

I watch the first show of every series just to see how far we have sunk as a country and last nights show continued this rapid decline. Out of 16 `characters` there were probably 2 who I wouldnt immediately tell to F OFF. The wolverine chap might be ok and the american kid seemed a bit less hyper than the other utter morons who are apparently `pretty`. I am always confused by the medias description of beautiful or handsome and I just saw a lot of plastic me me me people last night.

Look around at your workplace or college or school and pick just 2 people you could share a house with......

I bet they are funny, kind, caring people and probably been hit with an ugly stick or maybe have a little bit of flob ontheir belly or crappy hair...

Looks mean shit all in the real world....

Its only skin deep and this programme has the thinnest skin ever.

I WILL NOT WATCH ANYMORE

Until show one series 11

Return from the dark side

Its been a fair while since I posted....

I seem to have lost all interest in Blogs and Twitter and all this rubbish....

On refelection though the blog seems to be a good balance for me, I have been using Twiiter and blogs as a kind of research to see if it could be used at my work and I now realise that Twitter is useless...I dont care what you are doing every minute of the day and I sure as hell know that you dont care what I am doing every minute of the day....its all about numbers....how many followers.....how many friends.....please like me ...be my pretend friend.....

I dont care if I have no friends in the real world or online....

99% of people are utter idiots anyway.

I will continue to post every so often, but it might just be a way for me to vent my anger
